I returned my HP 14 Notebook to factory defaults and when I turned it on, it no longer connected to Wi-Fi, I noticed that it no longer had Qualcomm Atheros Wi-Fi drivers. What can I do?
• HP 14 14BRJ516PXD5 Notebook
• Windows 8.1 64 Bits
• Intel HD Graphics 4400
• 4 GB RAM
• Intel Core I5-4210U
• Product Number: F4J34LA#AC4

Hi:
If you notebook is only missing the wifi driver, you can install it from the link below.
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp70501-71000/sp70859.exe
If your notebook is missing the entire wifi adapter from the device manager, then there is a hardware problem of some sort.
The first thing to do in that case would be to remove and firmly reseat the Atheros wifi card and see if that gets it to show up again.
Leave the antenna cables connected if you can, to make it easier to reinstall it.
Here is the link to the service manual, where you can find the wifi card removal and replacement procedure.
