This is really starting to annoy me I might as well buy a better laptop this is the 3rd time now

So I was just watching YouTube and suddenly it buffered I look and the orange light is in and the wifi box is red NO WIFIS and thing is in wifi adapter settings i click enable and it says enabled and it's isn't actually so idk and now I restated it's gone tottaly

Before you say Yes I've tried device manager going to network name and pressing update I've tried system restore but that's getting stuck on installizing I haven't got much choice what do I do here ? And the real question is WHY is this happening ?????? My desktop don't do this so it's rather the laptop or the internet card what's built into my laptop it seemed like I could've been caused by an update HOWEVER it haven't done it on windows 10until the update CALLED kb4023057

So idk what's going on with this and I don't want to restore my laptop really because I have a lot of stuff on there

Greetings @W0lf

Thanks for the post and Welcome to HP Forums.

I understand that you are facing an issue with wireless connectivity on your computer, is that right?

Kudos to you for trying to troubleshoot the issue on your own.

Not to worry, I will be glad to assist you.

Have you run a diagnostics on your computer?

Have you tried to update all the drivers using HP Support Assistant?

Are you able to access the internet with an ethernet connection?

Request you open device manager by doing right-click on the Windows button.

Uninstall the wireless adapter.

Restart your computer couple times for Windows to install a generic driver.

Check if you are able to access the internet over wireless.

If you are able to access the internet on any other computer, request you download the driver from this link and install it on your computer and check.

Let me know if this helped.

however sounds silly but i might of fixed it idk yet but i manuly disabled windows updates as thats what i think was jsut causeing it as soon as it updates i know it might be bad to not update but if it fixes it its fine

now about drivers i actully didint install that support assisttant first i actully downloaded a internet driver from the place you put in your pc serial and comes up with the different drivers and as SOon as i started installing it it literally done the same thing just cut off and it was done for

i pretty much fix this by doing a system restore now it fixes it but hhopefully the windows update disabled will stop it im not sure

Thanks for the reply and glad to hear that the issue was resolved by doing a system restore. Recommend you still install the driver from the link provided earlier and let me know if it helped.

Keep me posted.

Spoiler
I have seen this issue on my HP pavilion dv6 laptop that came with Windows 7 but is now running Windows 10.  It seems to be an inability of the latest Windows 10 updates to continue to work with HP connection manager.  Try going into the bios screen during boot using the f10 key. Look for one of the screens that will allow you to disable the power savings feature for LAN, save and exit. When you are back in Windows 10, go to the control panel to work with your wireless adapter settings. You should now be able to restore connectivity.
