HP Pavilion 15-n014ss Notebook PC

Hello,

I recently installed Windows 10 on my Pavilion15-N014ss laptop, and now the Wi-Fi adapter is not detected, only the Ethernet adapter appears. I’ve tried several drivers recommended in other posts with the same problem, but none have worked. One thing I’ve noticed is that when I try to install the Wi-Fi driver from other forums, the installation completes very quickly and oddly. On my other laptop, the installation usually requires a restart or continues to install after the restart.

I’ve also checked in msinfo32 under network components, and the Wi-Fi adapter still doesn’t appear there. I have attached images for reference.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

In the end I left it off for several hours waiting for help from the forum and just now I turned it on and it works, thank you very much anyway.

Hi:

Do you remember what model Wi-Fi adapter your notebook has?

If it is a Ralink RT3290 or Ralink RT5390, that is a common problem on the newer builds of W10 and there is no fix other than to either use a USB Wi-Fi adapter or replace/upgrade the card to one of these models/part numbers:

Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo   HP part # 724935-001

Broadcom BCM943228HMB WiDi 802.11 a/b/g/n 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo   HP part # 730668-001

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001
