Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Two days I bought my new HP Envy 13.  Setting up was straightforward and all worked as expected, except for one, important aspect.  It will not see my home servers. I spent some time footling with settings that might have had an effect - but didn't.  Last night the servers became visible and I logged into them successfully.  This morning they had again disappeared.  I contacted HP support who, despite  being helpful and pleasant to deal with, were not able to resolve the issue and recommended returning the laptop to the retailer.  I did this afternoon and obtained a replacement.  I set this up but the problem recurred. In both cases the laptops have been updated (to, inter alia, Windows 10 1809).

I also have a Dell laptop connected to the same network which does not suffer from this problem.  Attached are screen shots of both screen showing the Network state.  The Dell has a Computer category; the HP does not.

Connections to these servers is critical to me.

I am at a loss as to what might be wrong - can anyone help?

I will be returning the second laptop tomorrow.  i would really like the HP to work but I can see little point in getting yet another so any one who can solve this will earn by gratitude and perhaps that of the retailer, John Lewis too.

thanks
