The driver posted by Chris tofu has helped massively. I have also switched off my Devolo WiFi extenders as the hp def didn't get on well with that.

Have tried drivers that are mentioned in solution still facing problem

Also tried many drivers windows default, others upgrading downgrading nothing works.

 

Please check it is not solved

I also had issues before on a previous laptop, ever since it was brand new. I tried multiple drivers with no benefit. I swapped the machine and the problem went away. BUT I also found that a certain (older) version of Avast free was causing issues as well. After it was updated, it's been fine, too.

 

I was able to test it by running a continuous ping in command-prompt and could see dropouts every 5 seconds or so. Swapping the machine AND fixing Avast (waiting for an update) helped a lot.

 

Since then, the new machine has updated drivers a few times, with no issues...
