My laptop Wi-fi adaptor is   Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter . When connected to the modem / router via 5Ghz band, it runs only at 25 Mbps contrary to the router wireless speed of 400Mbps !  Need help to fix this slow speed operation.

Some notes :

The Wi-Fi status via the network & sharing centre shows a speed of 54Mbps with a signal strength of 5 bars.  (2.4 Ghz band is running at 90 Mbps though ) .  ( Not on 802.11 ac? )

Tried disabling and enabling the device.  Didnt make any difference.

Channel width selection setting is "Auto "  (Btw, it shows "802.11n channel width 5.2Ghz" )

Driver installed is the latest version  2024.10.228.3

Laptop model is Pavilion 15-eh1101AU  (4X7E6PA)

Any help would be deeply appreciated to get my 5Ghz connection running at top speed..

Thanks

Well, Microsoft Co-Pilot helped me eventually !

All i had to do was to "Forget" the connected network and reconnect. And it works like a charm !

Hope this share helps someone .

Thank you for your prompt response @Banhien.

I ran the sp150994.exe file and rebooted the laptop. Yet, there is no change in the status.  The  updated driver version is the one that i had previously.  No change there. Please see the adapter properties  below :

SSID: Front_5GHz
Protocol: 802.11a
Security type: WPA2-Personal
Manufacturer: Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
Description: Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter
Driver version: 2024.10.228.3
Network band: 5 GHz
Network channel: 161
Link speed (Receive/Transmit): 54/54 (Mbps)

Look forward to your help,

Thanks

Update : 04-Dec-2024 :

Updated the laptop with driver version 2024.10.228.9 released in Dec 2023.

Interesting to note that the protocol is 802.11a  as below :

SSID: XXXXX
Protocol: 802.11a
Security type: WPA2-Personal
Manufacturer: Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
Description: Realtek RTL8822CE 802.11ac PCIe Adapter
Driver version: 2024.10.230.0
Network band: 5 GHz
Network channel: 149
Link speed (Receive/Transmit): 54/54 (Mbps)

Checked router settings and ensured channel supports 80Mhz, and selection is on "Auto".

Wonder why 802.11ac isnt being used .

Any help is deeply appreciated !

Thanks

Update : 15-Dec-24 :

Using Device manager, observed that the wireless modes available for the adapter were the following 6:

802.11 a

802.11 b

802.11 g

802.11 a/g

802.11 b/g

802.11 a/b/g

There is no option of 802.11 ac  !   The specification sheet for RTL 8822CE PCle states that 802.11 ac is supported though.

What may be preventing then?

Any help would be appreciated to resolve this issue !
