I have similar issues of this RT5390 on an older dm1z with that once wonderful AMD E350 apu. Under Windows initially the problems started this year, then under linux (archlinux rolling) my intuitions are suggesting the onboard chip is suffering a hardware fault. I have inspected it to the best of ability, reseated the antena wires properly, but to no avail.
It is a shame we can't seat any ordinary mPCi wifi card in there, for the price that HP wants to replace this N-spec+BT card we could of gone well into high AC-spec, just needed another few wires.
HP unlock the BIOS microcode restrictions please. IT IS TIME.
