So my wife bought a pavillion g6 from a retailer (brand new)a while back, 'because it was purple'. She's been saying it always overheats, I've always assumed it's just normal laptop overheating. We recently moved and now we have wifi (in the past we were just using a USB sim card dongle for internet). We tried to connect her to wifi but there didn't seem to be an option for a wifi connection in windows. I tried opening up the laptop to check there's a wifi card and the first odd thing I noticed was a burn mark on the case. Under the case the bloomin wifi card has been melting the chassis of the laptop!!! This has been the cause of the overheating. I turned it on and checked, after a few minutes of use, the laptop was heating up a lot, directly at the site of the wifi card. This could have caused a fire. Has anyone else had this problem?
