My Realtek RTL8XXX wireless device disappeared after PC hang / hard boot.  Device no longer listed in Device Manager / Network Adapters.  Cannot enable wireless device via keyboard or network and internet settings -- airplane mode is "on" and the message "we couldn't find wireless devices on this PC" is displayed in red text.  Downloaded and installed the Realtek RTL8xxx driver.  Driver installation a"appeared" to be successful, but physical wireless networking device is still not seen.

Are there any info docs/solutions for this type of issue?

Could the physical wireless device have experienced a failure and need to be replaced?

Hi,

Yes, it may be faulty device. Need to be replaced.

Also, check your BIOS settings, maybe it is in Disabled mode. If if is Enabled, try to Disable, reboot to Windows, then reboot and try to Enable it again.

If you have physical Wi-Fi switch, check the position of it.

Post your results.
