OMEN Laptop - 17-cb1005na

I'm not getting the ethernet speeds I should be from my Realtek ethernet card. I've recently upgraded to 1Gb broadband and get between 750 and 950mb on WiFi but on ethernet no higher than 95mb. I've searched all over the net and tried everything from buying a Cat 8 cable to changing the Speed Duplex settings and even installing the latest drivers from Realtek as the latest drivers don't seem to have been pushed through by Microsoft Windows Update.

Anyone know what's going on as it's driving me crazy.

Thank you.

Its specs

            https://support.hp.com/au-en/document/c06696396

It has  Integrated 10/100/1000 GbE LAN RJ-45 port. You should be able to get 1GB speed. Please get a better LAN cable (at least CAT 5E or CAT 6).

Regards.

The unzip it and install to your machine

Hope this helps.

Niether of those worked. The ethernet card still shows as linked at 100mb.

Do you have a different machine to test the SAME connection ? This will tell you the problem is on your machine or on the port of the router itself.

I can log-in perfectly fine via my Android HP Smart app if that's what you mean. Other than that, no. I don't have another spare PC or gaming laptop lying around sorry.

I don't think your Android smart app uses RJ45 port. We need to test EXACTLY same setup. Your friends or relatives fhould be able to help.

Apologies. I incorrectly assumed this was a response to a different question over a different problem  I've posted on here. But to answer your query, no none of my friends or family having gaming laptops with the exact same specs. We're not wealthy.
