My Realtek RTL8852AE WiFi 6 802.11ax PCLe Adapter for my wifi network keeps malfunctioning. Disabling and re-enableing the driver helps momentarily, but otherwise my computer now won't reliably hold a connection to my wifi, causing me to to have to disable/enable the driver anytime I need a page to load, and the driver is often disabling itself, causing all network settings and options to dissappear. I have tried resetting and troubleshooting my modem, which the network is working fine when connected to it from any other device, as well as have ensured my laptop is fully up to date, with HP support assistant saying there are no updated network drivers available. I'm not sure what next steps to take to try and get my laptop working again for school, any advice is appreciated. Thank you!

It sounds like your Realtek RTL8852AE WiFi 6 adapter is causing persistent connectivity issues. 

 

Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot and potentially resolve the problem:

 

1. Update the WiFi Driver

  • Even if HP Support Assistant shows no updates, you can manually download the latest driver for the Realtek RTL8852AE adapter. Visit the HP Support website or Realtek's official site to check for updates.
  • Alternatively, you can try this driver update link shared by other users experiencing similar issues.

 

2. Roll Back the Driver

  • If the issue started after a recent update, rolling back to a previous driver version might help:
    • Open Device Manager (Windows + X > Device Manager).
    • Expand Network Adapters, right-click on the Realtek adapter, and select Properties.
    • Go to the Driver tab and click Roll Back Driver.

 

3. Disable Power Management

  • Prevent Windows from turning off the adapter to save power:
    • In Device Manager, right-click the Realtek adapter and select Properties.
    • Go to the Power Management tab and uncheck Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

 

4. Reset Network Settings

  • Resetting your network settings can resolve configuration issues:
    • Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings > Network reset.
    • Restart your laptop after the reset.

 

5. Update BIOS

  • Outdated BIOS firmware can sometimes cause hardware compatibility issues. Check for BIOS updates on the HP Support website.
