The specs of your machine is

    https://support.hp.com/sg-en/document/c05165029

It has  802.11b/g/n (1x1) and Bluetooth® 4.0 combo wifi adapter which can only see 2.4GHz network. Please allow your router to broadcast dual bands which are 2.4GHz and 5.0GHz, then connect your machine to 2.4GHz network.

Regards.

Thanks for the assistance.

I have checked that my router connection is 2.4ghz. it's only connecting when I am in same room (within 3-3.5 mtr).

Now I have found the real problem. The range of my driver decreased a lot.

Please tell me how to fix it.

Your machine use Broadcom BCM43142 802.11 b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi and BluteTooth 4.0 M.2 combination WLAN adapter part #  792608-005, not Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn WiFi adaptor. Where do you get information from ?

Please keep or bookmark the following link for future references:

Now please

(a) Download the following Broadcom software for wifi and Bluetooth

            https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp75001-75500/sp75249.exe

            https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp74501-75000/sp74988.exe

(b) Uninstall Wifi Realtek software/driver and reboot

(c) Install Broadcom drivers and reboot.

Hope this fixes the proble.

Regards.
