Microsoft Windows 11

Hi Guys,

Recently after an update getting this wifi network adapter issues. I am unsure if the update was windows / BIOS / HP etc but its been a month or so from today. This happened when i was using windows 10. A few days back did the windows 11 installation so i guess rolling back the driver or BIOS setup will not help right?

I did all possible things hp recommends and it works sometime and it does not work sometimes.

Also installing the latest HP PC Hardware Diagnostics is not helping as windows is unable to access the installed location though i am the administrator.

Repeatably is proving wrong.

I however did not open the laptop to clean the connection.

For the model number can anybody confirm if the wifi adapter is fixed on the motherboard or is it a stand alone type so if need be can replace it.

Also can i buy another brand if not Realtek.

Any help would be really appreciated as my daughter uses it for her online school education.

Best Regards

Ashwin

You're very welcome.

Your notebook has the best wifi card installed that was available for the model series.

See chapter 3 of the service manual.

The RTL8822CE is a lousy card, so if you want to experiment with a better card, I recommend this one...

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro  HP part # L35282-005

You can find the card on eBay.  Search by the HP part number, not the model of the wifi card.

If there is no way you can get the card on eBay then see if you can get the same model card but it has to be non-vPro, or it definitely won't work.

Here is a video for how to remove and replace the wifi card in your notebook.  Your notebook's wifi card will have two antenna wires attached to the card.

Hi:

The wifi card is removable.

What is the full model number or product number of your notebook?

Use this guide to find that information...please do not post the serial number.

Then I can see if there is an alternative card you can install.

Have you tried the latest driver for the card?

This package contains the DCHU driver installation package for the Realtek RTL8188EE, RTL8723BE, RTL8723DE, RTL8821CE, RTL8822BE, RTL8822CE, RTL8852AE and RTL8852BE wireless LAN Controller in the supported computer models running a supported Windows 10 or Windows 10 Cloud operating system.

Thankyou Paul.

I love the solution. However i went with a cheaper solution of buying an external wifi adapter.  I will buy what you recommended in parallel.
