I am trying to get a better speed on my laptop HP 250 15.6 inch G9 notebook. I searched on the internet and apparently my wifi card should allow me to connect to 802.11ac wifi type, or the 5 ghz wifi band. I tried downloading the latest drivers from somewhere and it suddenly did change my wifi band to 5 ghz and my speed improved drastically. But after some time, it reverted to back 4 ghz. I am so annoyed by this. Kindly help!

I have the same problem. I have ax3000 router and my other devices always get 200mbps+ speed, however my laptop only getting around 100mbps. After checking and installing the latest drivers, i still have the same issue. Looking at the community I found that other people have ac setting on their device manager, however my laptop does not.
I tried using USB Wifi receiver and the connection type automatically changed to 802.11ac
My windows is already at the latest update. 11 23H2, updated my bios and the driver to the latest available from the Official HP website.
I hope someone can help with this problem.
