My laptop with Realtek RTL8852BE WiFi 6 802.11ax PCIe Adapter cannot connect to my ISP router with WiFi 6 6GHz channel. Open the adapter property / configuration, it can only connect to 5GHz and does not have any option of 6GHz. I have already updated the driver from HP with their latest version 6001.15.141.0 2023-04-18.
I just upgraded my internet service to 1.5G service with WiFi6 capability. However, if my laptop cannot run 6GHz, it is kind of defeating the purpose of upgrading my service and buying this laptop.
I would like to know if there is any way to enable the 6GHz with this wifi adapter.
Thanks
Joseph

Hi banhien, it is interesting that I have to install an older version of the driver.
The present installed version is from : SoftPaq number: sp148266 Version: 1.0.0.226 , 6001.15.141.0
It seems that it is going backward.
I just want to confirm if this makes sense.
Thanks
Joseph

Hi there, I installed the patch sp136987.exe which you recommended and the version is now 6001.15.141.0 instead of the one you mentioned in your reply earlier - 6001.0.10.344 with this patch - sp136987.exe
However, it is still not working with 6Ghz. There is no selection of 6GHz channel in the driver properties - Preferred Band.
Let me know if there is any thing that is missed.
Thanks

Hi there, I think that I know the answer after searching.
In order to connect to the 6GHz band, I need an WifI 6E adapter. However, my laptop adapter is only supporting WiFi 6 and only can connect to either 2.4GHz or 5GHz running with Protocol - Wi-Fi 6 (802.11ax).
I am okay now and please close the case.
FYI - I have a Google Pixel 7 Pro which can support WiFi 6E and connected to 6GHz band.
Thanks
Joseph
