Greetings, I bought my HP Notebook laptop about a year ago, up until now it has been functioning perfectly with minor errors which are common and easily resolved, yesterday my WiFi started acting strange, showing a "limited" connection under my router's name, with no other WiFi networks available for connection (they would show before), on restarting WiFi, it would fail to reconnect with anything at all showing "No Networks found", at first hibernating/restarting seemed to fix the problem although only temporarly, but now it doesn't seem to work at all, in the device manager it shows under the properties of the WiFi adapter:
This device cannot start. (Code 10)
{Operation Failed}
The requested operation was unsuccessful.
I tried re-installing drivers, uninstalling the device and reinstalling, connecing with Ethernet and letting windows automatically install drivers, and even attempting to troubleshoot it with the network and device troubleshooters which only diagnoses the problem as a driver problem but is unable to fix it, why?, because "This device cannot start. (Code 10)", nothing seems to work, and only ethernet cables seem to work, this is the first time I have experienced this, I literally searched everywehre and tried everything to no avail.
My WiFi Adapter is: Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter
Latest installed driver version: 2023.48.1130.2016

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
As I understand the Realtek wifi adapter isn't working due to the code 10,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
You have mentioned that everything has been tried, perhaps, you define "everything"? 😛
That said, Did you attempt to install the latest drivers from HP website?
(Click here, if you haven't done that yet)
While you respond to that, The best way to do that is using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:
Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).
Also, Did you check for any other HP Forum posts to help resolve your concern?
If you haven't, Here's a related HP Forums post that seems to have helped others: Click here for the steps.
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!
Good Luck.
