HP Notebook - 15-r116nx
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

After the latest (and only) BIOS upgrade, WiFi adapter is permanently OFF... the only way to turn it back on is to boot into "safe mode", uninstall adapter from Device Manager then reboot. after that, it works flawlessly (Airplane Mode On/Off and all)... Problem is: any shutdown or restart will return the adapter to the OFF mode.

Needless to say I did/tried everything: uninstall and reinstall drivers (and adapters), resetting BIOS to default, DISM,  SFC, flush DNS, uncheck "allow PC to turn off device" and more... I even went through a clean install of windows 10 with no luck.

The hardware is there, working well and passes all diagnostics tests. As a matter of fact, I'm using the wireless right now to write this but as soon as I restart the WiFi adapter will return to the OFF mode. This is very frustrating.

P.S. the HP virtual assistant is a joke and is absolutely useless for anything other than basic "kindergarten" stuff.
