According to the event manager on my wife’s computer, the remote access connection manager is failing to start because it’s unable to load one or more connection dlls. Her System32 folder has all the dlls that are named in rasman.dll, and all the dlls listed in the documentation for the Universal CRT for Windows 8.1. Another person says that the computers at his company with Realtek NICs have that problem, but the ones with Intel NICs don’t. Im thinking that there might be some kind of mismatch between the Realtek drivers and the Windows system. Has anyone here seen any news of anything like that? One person solved the problem by re-installing the system. My computer is identical to my wife’s, except that I refreshed the system on it three weeks ago, and I’m not having the problem. What differences could that make in our systems? According to Windows Update on both computers, all available updates have been installed. Can the same update produce different results at different times?

HPSA will automatically search for all the latest drivers for your Notebook
-
Click My devices in the top menu, and then click Updates in the My PC or My notebook pane.
-
Click Check for updates and messages to scan for new updates.
-
Review the list of updates. Updates with a yellow information icon are recommended. Updates with a blue information icon are optional.
-
Click the update name for a description, version number, and file size.
-
Select the box next to any updates you want to install, and then click Download and install.
Also ensure Windows has all the latest updates
Select the Start button, and then go to Settings > Update & security > Windows Update , and select Check for updates. If Windows Update says your device is up to date, you have all the updates that are currently available.
If the issue persist, I suggest you reset the System and then run all the updates
Thank you and have a wonderful day 😊
