I'm told that the Intel 7260.HMW is an excellent replacement for the current adapter.

Any thoughts..??

Thanks.

Hi:

The Intel 7260 card won't work in an AMD notebook.

If you don't have a g7-2200 or g7-2300 notebook model series, there is a BIOS whitelist which would prevent the installation of any other model Wi-Fi card from working.

I would need to know the full model number or product number of your notebook to provide possible upgrades to the internal Wi-Fi adapter.

I'm guessing this right here is the one...??

Yes, that one should work.

It would have a maximum throughput of 867 MBPS on the 5.0 GHz Wi-Fi band and 144 MBPS on the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi band.

Those speeds depending on signal strength.

Sadly, that ain't gonna get it done, as it ships from China and I need it quicker.

Yeah, the ones I see on eBay all come from China too unless you want to pay an arm and a leg for shipping.

I do see in this thread that the intel one will work, but without bluetooth, which I have never used anyway...

Well..I'll be darned.

So it does.

You can probably get the BT to work by masking a couple of pins.

Got the new card and installed it. Went smoothly but it fought me to work properly, oh Lordy how it fought me.
Finally, uninstalled it via device manager and let windows work out it's driver, and got this...
