Solved!

Replacement for my WiFi Card and upgrade of my RAM

HP Pavilion 17 Notebook PC
Microsoft Windows 8.1 (64-bit)

I have two items that I have questions about.

1.)  realtek rtl8188ee 802.11bgn wi-fi adapter

I want to replace this card.  What replacement part can I use for this card?
And, is the following a card that is compatible with my laptop?
Intel Network 7260.HMWG.R Revised WiFi Wireless-AC 7260 H/T Dual Band 2x2 AC+Bluetooth HMC Free Mounting Screws Included

2.)  I want upgrade my RAM on my computer (currently 4.00 GB installed).

Please send me information on upgrading this card(s).  Do I have two slots or one? and what can I upgrade too (8 or 16 or higher)?  And what are some of the names (Card #) match my PC?
Thx

We will need the exact model number of the laptop to pull up the right manual and check  out whether you can do the proposed updates, and, if so, how.

You have no whitelist so you can install any wireless card of the same form factor as the one you have. The Intel 3160 was offered on that model and it is a dual band 2.4 and 5 ghz adapter with BT:

But the 7160 would also work:

The Manual says 12 gigs is the maximum (8 + 4) but many users have reported success with 16 gigs (2 x 😎

See pp. 86 and 104 for "how to" on the memory and wireless module. These are not easy replacements. Make sure you know what you are doing or get it to a technician who does. Specifically, memory upgrade requires removal of the motherboard. If you need help, shout back.
