My HP laptop isn't even 14 months old and the wifi card has started going wonky. About 2 weeks ago it started dropping off then reconnecting. Now it is happening more frequently and I figure it will go out completely. From reading here, looks like a very common issue. I've tried updating the driver to no avail. Although I wonder if anyone has had any luck completely uninstalling and re-installing the driver?
I bought from Amazon with the Asurion insurance. But last time I had something fail they took over 2 months with 4 returns before replacing. This time they say I can take local for repair I pay the bill and they will repay me as long as not over $70. for us living rural local is still roughly 80 miles. I have a hard time believing I can find any shop to do parts and labor for that price. This looks like something I could replace as long as I know I have the right replacement part on hand. I'm fairly handy
I conversed with AI about this and it said I need to make sure it was compatible with the BIOS whitelist of my

Can anyone tell me a compatible card or where to get an OEM realtek card?

Update/Uninstall and Reinstall Drivers
Before considering hardware replacement, it’s worthwhile to ensure that this is not a driver issue. Here’s how you can update, uninstall, and reinstall the driver:
Update the Driver:
- Connect to the internet via another method (e.g., Ethernet cable).
- Open Device Manager by right-clicking on the Start menu and selecting it.
- Find “Network adapters” and expand the list.
- Right-click on the Realtek RTL8852BE-VS adapter and select "Update driver."
- Choose "Search automatically for updated driver software."
- Follow the instructions and complete the update.
Uninstall and Reinstall the Driver:
- Open Device Manager.
- Expand “Network adapters” and find your Realtek WiFi adapter.
- Right-click on it and select "Uninstall device."
- After uninstalling, restart your laptop. Upon reboot, Windows should automatically attempt to reinstall the driver.
- If Windows does not reinstall the driver, go back to Device Manager, right-click on the device name under "Network adapters," and select "Scan for hardware changes."
Replace the WiFi Card
Purchase a Compatible Replacement: Ensure that you buy a compatible WiFi card. An example of a compatible WiFi card for an HP laptop could be another Realtek model or Intel’s WiFi 6 AX200 or AX210 cards. Check compatibility with your laptop model.
- Turn Off and Unplug the Laptop: Turn off your laptop completely and unplug it from the power source.
- Remove the Back Cover: Use a screwdriver to remove the screws securing the back cover. Note that some laptops have a small compartment specifically for the WiFi card, making it easier to access.
- Locate the WiFi Card: The WiFi card is easy to spot; it’s a small, rectangular card with two wires (antennae) connected to it.
- Disconnect the Antennae: Carefully disconnect the two wires from the WiFi card. They are typically snapped on the connectors.
- Remove the WiFi Card: Unscrew the screw holding the WiFi card in place and carefully remove it from the PCIe slot.
- Install the New WiFi Card: Insert the new WiFi card into the PCIe slot, secure it with the screw you removed earlier, and reattach the antennae.
- Replace the Back Cover and Power On: Replace the back cover, screw it in place, and turn on your laptop.
- Install Drivers: Once booted up, you may need to install drivers for the new WiFi card. You can download these from the manufacturer's website or use the drivers that come with the card.
I hope this helps.

Thank you sir.
I have some serious documents for our local charitable organization to edit and rewrite with the help of others also working remotely and to even think of attempting to do this by phone and tablet gives this old gal nightmares!
Yes I am waiting for for 2 adapters to arrive, hopefully by the end of this week.
One USB - C to ether net for the HP unit and
One wifi to either net for my Starlink Router
I was double whammed on this!

I will follow your advice in proper order thank you. You gave me the info I believe I needed
