My HP laptop keeps showing that it is connected to the wifi but the internet is not shown as available.I know this is not correct as other devices are connected and work fine.I have a Starlink router and mesh.

I have done all the diagnostics and all seems fine.I have done this half a dozen times.

Anyone got ideas?

@David1266, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding HP Laptop Connectivity!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Update Network Drivers: Ensure that your HP laptop's network drivers are up-to-date. You can do this using the HP Support Assistant, which is a tool that can automatically check for and install driver updates.

Restart Your Devices: Sometimes, restarting your laptop and router can resolve connectivity issues. Simply turn off your laptop and router, wait for a few seconds, and then turn them back on.

Forget and Reconnect to the Network: On your HP laptop, forget the Wi-Fi network and reconnect to it. This often helps refresh the connection settings.

Check Wi-Fi Settings: Ensure that the Wi-Fi is enabled and airplane mode is disabled on your laptop.

Use Device Manager: Open Device Manager and check for any issues under "Network adapters." You can try disabling and then enabling the network adapter, or uninstall it and then scan for hardware changes to reinstall.

Firewall and Antivirus Settings: Sometimes these can interfere with network settings. Ensure that your firewall or antivirus software isn’t blocking your connection.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
