HP Notebook - 15-dw0083wm

LAPTOP-HEIK09FA

Intermittent Wi-Fi connection issues while still under warranty. Sent in twice for repair. No improvement in Wi-Fi reliability. ((( NO Longer under warranty.)))

TWO Wi-Fi Adapters listed under DEVICE MANAGER.

"Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter #3"

"Microsoft Wi-Fi Direct Virtual Adapter #4"

SHOULD there be TWO Adapters / drivers listed?

I used to be tech savvy - but no longer. 😏

Thanks!!! 😊

I do not think I had the latest driver - which an HP person told me - on my earlier post

this driver:

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp148001-148500/sp148495.exe

Trying to add bookmark to my earlier post - but unable to figure out.

Sorry for all the confusion - I am new to this stuff.

They are virtual adapters created by the operating system and not anything to worry about.

Here is an example of my own configuration.

1. How do I send a private message?

2. The link you provided did not list laptops - how to find product number etc - for laptops.

I think I included the Model no  on my initial post?

Thanks for the reply.

My issue is my laptop will NOT connect to Wi-Fi.

I must restart Network Adapter once or twice - and alternate that

with restarting my laptop.

Then - sometimes - but not every time - will my laptop connect.

When it does connect, it will usually drop connection within 5-15 minutes.

Thanks for your time.

😊

P.S. This issue started well before my Warranty ran out. HP tech support had me mail in my laptop TWICE. (from NC to CA). This took several weeks - both times - Still not fixed. So they ran the clock out on me - as now my warranty is dead.  They did give me a coupon for a new laptop. Still disappointing.

The subject line of a thread is normally a descriptor of the problem.

No.

When you do not identify your desktop or laptop PC, you tie our hands behind our backs. Help us to help you.

When logged into Windows, hold down the Windows key and tap the R key once.
That will open the Windows run dialogue

Type in msinfo32 and press enter.

The ninth line is the SKU and the HP product number. Kindly post it in your next reply in your thread.

The System SKU/Product ID will enable us to determine the hardware configuration of your notebook.
