Our computer service is having problem with HP 640 G9 combined with HP usb-C dock :
Symptoms : no ethernet connexion found in windows 10
ethernet card is detected but it has a warning sign in windows 10 device manager
we have this same problem on several HP 640 G9 combined with HP usb-C dock
We noticed that In bios normally, in uefi drivers, we should have 2 mac adresses ( i guess : one for wifi, one for ethernet)
that is what is visible in a working 640 G9
In a non working PC, One is missing
we have a wide park of computer and we have noticed that each week 1 or 2 computer has the same problem
Of course we cannot do a network installation (pxe) anymore with this computers through the network connection
Our temporary solution is to use the usb-c dock network port to access network and do the installation.
This new installation does not solve the problem.
We have tried to change the ethernet network card on the non-working pc but unsuccessfully.
We tried to change option in bios and uefi bios with no result.
it seems that the ethernet port is working (orange and green light) but has lost his mac address. (how could this be possible?)
Our guess is there is something wrong with the bios may be due to an update.
We noticed that our users who have this trouble use an usb-c dock (Most of the time they used the usb-c dock network connection)
Do you know why these hp 640 g9 network connection is no more working and do you have a solution?
