I have been trying to install a new wireless card in my laptop.  The original wireless is a ralink rt5390 which is terrible and is only getting .05 to 1 mbps.  Tried everything that I read on line to get it to go quicker but nothing worked.  The other laptop that I have is in the 15 to 20 mbps range.  That computer is from 2006 running vista.  Wired this computer gets 30 to 40 Mbps.

I purchased an Intel 7260acr dual band with bluetooth but after installing drivers and then turning off the computer to intall the card the computer wont boot and says that Wireless module is not supported.  I updated the Bios to the most current version and still no joy.  How do I get the computer to recognize the adapter?

Hi,

The sad news is you can't. The message says all: "that Wireless module is not supported". Latest BIOS won't help. If you wish to use newer technology, my suggestion: an USB wireless adapter/dongle may help.

Regards.

I was worried that was the case.   So If I get a usb wireless adapter will i run into the same issue?

Hi,

Normally no, because adapter is an external device but you need to be sure the one you buy MUST have driver CD or at least you can download from vendor support site.
