Hi @KAAKU,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If you're encountering issues with the TPM (Trusted Platform Module) drivers on your HP laptop, here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshoot and resolve the problem.

Check TPM in Device Manager

  1. Press Win + X and select Device Manager.
  2. Expand Security Devices.
  3. Look for Trusted Platform Module 2.0.
    • If it's missing or shows a warning icon:
      • Right-click the TPM device and select Update driver.
      • Choose Search automatically for drivers.

Update Windows

  1. Press Win + I to open Settings.
  2. Navigate to Update & Security > Windows Update.
  3. Click Check for updates and install any available updates, especially those related to security and TPM.

Clear TPM

  1. Press Win + S and search for tpm.msc, then press Enter.
  2. In the TPM Management console:
    • Check the status of the TPM. It should say, The TPM is ready for use.
    • If there are issues, select Clear TPM (this will reset TPM to factory defaults).
    • Follow on-screen instructions. Your computer may restart.

Update BIOS

  1. Visit the HP Support website and enter your laptop's serial number or model name.
  2. Download and install the latest BIOS update for your laptop.
  3. Follow the on-screen instructions to install the update carefully.

Reinstall TPM Drivers

  1. Open Device Manager.
  2. Right-click on Trusted Platform Module 2.0 (or similar) under Security Devices and choose Uninstall device.
  3. Restart your laptop. Windows should reinstall the default drivers automatically.

Enable TPM in BIOS

  1. Restart your laptop and enter the BIOS/UEFI (usually by pressing F10, F2, Delete, or Esc during startup).
  2. Navigate to the Security or Trusted Computing section.
  3. Ensure TPM is enabled. If not, enable it and save changes.

Check for Known Issues

  • Some HP laptops may require specific firmware updates for TPM functionality:
    • Visit HP's Support and Drivers page for your laptop model.
    • Search for updates related to TPM Firmware Update or Intel Management Engine.

Reset TPM via Command Line

  1. Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
  2. Type the following command and press Enter:

tpmtool getdeviceinformation

  • This displays the TPM status.
  1. If resetting is required, type:

tpmtool clear

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
