@CARHAF2, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
To turn off the Wi-Fi feature on your HP LaserJet MFP M139we and use it via USB only, follow these steps:

Step 1: Connect the Printer via USB

  1. Ensure your printer is powered on.
  2. Connect the printer to your Windows 11 PC using a USB cable.

Step 2: Disable Wi-Fi Direct & Wireless

Since this model is an HP+ printer, Wi-Fi cannot be permanently disabled, but you can prevent wireless connections:

Access Embedded Web Server (EWS)

  • Open a web browser (Chrome, Edge, etc.).
  • Type: http://192.168.223.1 (this is the default Wi-Fi Direct IP for HP printers).
  • Press Enter.

Disable Wireless

  • Go to Networking / Wireless Settings.
  • Disable Wi-Fi Direct.
  • If there’s an option for Wireless, disable it as well.
  • Click Apply/Save.

Step 3: Use HP Smart App to Configure USB Mode (If Needed)

  1. Download and install the HP Smart app.
  2. Open HP Smart and add your printer.
  3. Go to Printer Settings > Advanced Settings (EWS).
  4. Disable Wi-Fi Direct under Wireless settings.

Step 4: Ensure USB is Set as the Default Connection

  1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your HP LaserJet MFP M139we.
  3. Click Printer Properties > Ports tab.
  4. Ensure the USB port is selected.

After these steps, your printer should work only via USB without requiring the internet.
