My ISP changed my router for the 5th time and i never had a problem being able to access the 5G network until now. Choices only show 2G and i lagg horribly on VPN for my work. I was on chat earlier and they told me to uninstall the driver and i did, restarted and once it was re installed i still dont have the option for 5G network. Any suggestions? ISP says its an HP issue, i think its a windows issue

Hi:

What model wifi adapter does your notebook have?

If you don't know, go to the device manager.

Click to expand the Network adapters device manager category, and there you will find the name and model number of the wireless network adapter.

RealTek RTL8188EE 802.11 bgn wi-fi adapter. From what i gathered on a similar post this stupid adapter isnt dual so it doesnt support 5g

Hi:

That is correct.

The Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11 bgn wi-fi adapter is a single band wifi adapter that only works on the 2.4 GHz wifi band.

If you let me know the product number of your notebook, I will see if there is a dual band wifi card you can upgrade to.

Use this guide for how to find the product number for your notebook....Please do not post the serial number.
