HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Desperately need help, I have tried several times to resolved the issue but I am still having it. I have a HP Pavilion Sleekbook 15 I have contacted support in the past but the issue is ongoing. I have restored my PC to factory default 3 times the only way I am able to connect to the internet is via a LAN line or my phone providing the connection via USB. I have updated the network adapters one by one yet the one I believe the PC needs is completely missing, I have seen this on my other PC it has wifi adapter at the end that just not on this PC, Airplane mode is off yet the light is amber instead of blue on my F12 button. I have done the troubleshooting I find online with no success I unfortunately cannot continue to use the wired connection it just doesnt work for me since my workspace is in another room and the modem/router is in the TV room where I can't work. Please help.

@Gaabz, Welcome to HP Support Community!

Follow the steps below-

Disable the Power Off option for the adapter:

1. Open Device Manager. (Win Key+R > type devmgmt.msc > OK)

2. Expand the Network adapters.

3. Right click on the Ethernet/Wireless Adapter and click Properties.

4. Click the Power Management tab.

5. Remove the check mark beside Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power.

6. Click OK.

7. Test.

Reset the TCP/IP settings on your PC:

1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.

2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.

3. In the window that opens type "netsh int ip reset resetlog.txt" without quotes, and press enter.

4. Restart your PC and test.

It may also help to reset the winsock catalogue:

1. Go to your start screen/menu and type CMD.

2. Right click on the command prompt icon and chose Run as administrator.

3. In the window that opens type "netsh winsock reset" without quotes, and press enter.

4. Restart your PC and test.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
