Hi, Is it possible to upgrade from RT3290 Ralink WiFi Card to Intel Dual Band 8260HMW? Does my laptop whitelisted?

Hi:

 

Intel does not make the 8260 in a half mini card (HMC) form factor.

 

Your notebook needs a HMC card, and the link you posted is really for the 7260 card, which you can upgrade to if your notebook has two antenna cables connected to the Ralink wifi card in there now.

 

I recommend you get this card with the HP part number...

 

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0    HP Part # 710661-001

 

The card is readily available on eBay or Amazon, and doesn't cost very much at all.

 

Search by the HP part number, not by the model number of the wireless card.

Yeah my ralink is connected into 2 antennas. Unfortunately I couldn't purchase it because they won't deliver to my country. Is it ok to purchase the 7260 that I posted or how bout this?Screenshot_20181107-182153.jpg

Yeah, I think that one will work too.

 

Your notebook doesn't have a BIOS whitelist, so theoretically any HMC form factor wifi card should work.
