I'm thinking of upgrading the network card in my laptop from the Broadcom BCM43142 (m.2), which is worse than using two cans and a string for connecting to the internet, to the Intel AC9260. However on the sell page of the AC9260 it said that HP block installing unknown network adaptors on their laptops. Is this the case? If so which is the best 2x2 wifi card that is supported by my laptop, is there a list of supported cards somewhere?

As far as I know, HP doesn't whitelist WiFi cards in their latest generation of laptops. I have the same Broadcom s**t in my Pavilion 15 Gaming and I am waiting for a Intel 9260 to come from China. Be aware that you might have only one antenna wire in your device so you have to buy and install an extra piece if you want to take advantage of the better WiFi card.

It worked?

Yes, it worked. Bought an Intel 9260 from Aliexpress for 18$ and it recognizes it and works ok.

The only thing that you must be aware is the fact that some laptops come with only one physical antenna, as it was my case. If you buy a dual antenna Wi-Fi card, like the Intel 9260, you need to request from the seller, or buy from somewhere else a second antenna and install it into your laptop case.

Did you tested bluetooth and wifi at the same time? Any interference? Any speed drop on wifi or low bluetooth's 5.0 speed?

Thanks for your quick previous response.

Didn't tested extensively, but near the rooter (2 meters) on an Asus 11N router I get ~50mpbs at 2.4 Ghz and 95mpbs at 5 Ghz. This is the actual limit of the router since all other devices, like phones/tablets get the same top speed. With BT speaker, I get a small reduction, aprox 43mpbs on the wifi speed test (Wifi only on 2.4 Ghz when BT is enabled).

I will do more tests today when I get at home.

Keep me tuned!

Ok, getting back with results. Stock results on Asus RT-N53 router.
