Is it possible to upgrade the wireless card in a HP Laptop 17-bs0xx to allow 5gz wireless?  2.4gz just doens't cut it.

Hi:

What model wifi adapter does your notebook have in there now?

HP Recommended

Sorry for the late response.  My wifi adapter is Realtek RTL8723DE 802.11b/gn PCle Adapter.

Here is the problem...your notebook only has one antenna cable connected to the Realtek 8723DE wifi card in there now.

There is only one model wifi card that works with one antenna, and is dual band AC.

See this discussion below. I cannot guarantee this card will work in your notebook, but it is the only one that would be a direct swap.

If you want to give the Realtek 8821CE wifi card a try, here are the latest W10 wifi and bluetooth drivers for the RTL8821CE.
