HP Elitebook folio 9470m
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi all,

I have an HP UN2430 WWAN card on an HP 9470m laptop. All set up and working perfectly on Windows 10 pro. I have a normal sim card that i use for calls in my phone currently installed in the laptop. Is there any way i can use the UN2430 to make calls on the laptop. Problem is, i need to enter codes when subscribing for data bundles and would like to be able to do that from the laptop rather than pulling the sim out every time i need to subscribe. Something like *123# or *456# to subscribe. Don't really need to be able to make voice calls. Just these short codes to subscribe to data or check current data status..

Can your SIM card use data and/or connect to Internet ? Please check with your provider, does it support WWAN card on your machine ?

I'm using SIM card (unlock means I can use on any phone) from my phone on my Windows 10 machine to call as a phone and also can connect to internet when not at home.

Regards.

I can see that this is your standard reply to every post with similar question. YES, i can access the internet on the sim with BOTH the phone AND in the laptop NO, it is not locked in any way. I am using the sim in the laptop and using the data on the same sim to type this reply. It is a normal sim that i use to access data and make calls on the phone and transfer the same sim to laptop to use Data when i do not wish to use a hotspot from the phone. The question is not about connecting to data as i obviously have already done that. Its a simple question. Can i use short codes like *123# etc while the sim is still in the laptop. is there any solution to that? The service provider i'm using doesn't have sms codes for all data packages, rather has short codes that you have to dial from a dialer.
