Hi,

I want to uprage my WIFI Card (Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3160 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac (1x1) WiFi with Bluetooth 4.0 combo 710662-001) for a new one. I have chosen the Broadcom BCM94352HMB Half Mini PCI-E Card. I have found such card on e-Bay, but I do not know whether this card is compatible with my laptop. Can you help me? Thanks in advance.

You're very welcome.

It may not.

Some other forum member tried on in the 850 G1 which is an upscale model of yours (same processor and chipset), and he got an unsupported wifi card error in the BIOS.

You initially wrote that you have the Intel 3160 1x1 card not the 7260, which has twice the throughput as the 3160.

As I wrote above...the Intel 7260 AC card I posted has the exact same specs as the Broadcom BCM94352HMB wifi card.

If you are insistant on getting the Broadcom card which may not work, and has outdated W10 drivers, here is the info you need...

Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo      HP Part # 724935-001

Please post back and let us know if it works or not.

If it were me, I would go for the sure thing...the Intel 7260.

Hi:

You should be able to install this Intel equivalent to the Broadcom AC card you are interested in.

It has the same specs as the Broadcom AC card (2x2, 867 MBPS max connection speed), but the Intel drivers are more current.

Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 HP Part # 710661-001

The card is readily available on eBay or Amazon, and doesn't cost very much at all.

Do your search by the HP part number, not by the model number of the wireless card.

Hi,

firstly thanks for your quick response.

Just to make it clear:

- I have this card: Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7260 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 HP Part # 710661-001

- I want this card: Wireless Broadcom BCM94352HMB , BT4.0 MIni PCI-E Wifi Card

But I do not know the HP part number of Broadcom  WIFI card and even if my laptop supports this Broadcom card. So the question is: does my laptop support the WIFI Broadcom BCM94352HMB MIni PCI-E Wifi Card? Thanks in advance.

Hi,

sorry, you are right - I have Intel 3160 1x1 (I made a mistake). Your suggestion with Intel 7260 AC is good one and it is better than my first idea. Thank you very much.

Anytime.

Glad to have been of assistance.

You won't even need to install the drivers, or uninstall the 3160 in the device manager.

Here is a side by side comparison of the 3160 and the 7260.

Please post back and let us know how your wifi card upgrade went.
