Hi
OK
HP Pavilion Notebook - 15-ab100nx (ENERGY STAR)
You have W8 installed, and the machine came with W10?
Drivers for W10...
So now we need to establish what/which WiFi adapter you have.
Copy, Paste and Save in Notepad, as LBB.bat (not a .TXT) and double click to run.
Preferably run as an Administrator.
OR
Copy and use the individual command lines as needed.
Post anything non-personal, but relevant please.
@Echo OFF
getmac
netsh lan show interfaces
netsh wlan show interfaces
netsh wlan show drivers
PAUSE
systeminfo
PAUSE
If in doubt please ask.

Hi
In the screen shot there is a "MAC" address of 4C-34-88-E8-B3-85
So you have an Intel device. Which is really confusing.
The manual
http://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c04775872
lists
Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 802.11 ac 2x2 WiFi + BT 4.0 Combo Adapter (non vPRO) 784644-005
Realtek RTL8188EE 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi Adapter 792609-005
Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11b/g/n 1x1 Wi-Fi + BT4.0 Combo Adapter 792610-005
the specifications quote...
802.11a/b/g/n/ac (1x1) and Bluetooth® 4.0 combo (Miracast compatible)
maybe WinKey + R and type / run msinfo32.exe
to ID the device.
Lots of pieces to the jig-saw and I cannot put them together, in fact there may be more than 1 puzzle.
The adapter may have failed, or simply not be the one in the manual or specification.
So I think you should make what progress you can, and ask again.
