Hello

I need help finding out if I can change my network card from the Qualcomm Atheros qca9565 to a HP Broadcom BCM94352HMB. I want to get ac instead of b/g/n. If not possible can you recommend an ac card. Thank you.

Hi:

Chapter 3 of the service manual indicates the Atheros card was the only model offered in the model series.

Your notebook might have a BIOS whitelist, and HP does not release any info on which notebooks had them.

A BIOS whitelist prevents any wifi card that didn't originally come with the notebook from working.

HP removed the whitelist from most but not all notebooks around the time yours was produced.

I would say that if you want to take the chance, it might work. It is the only dual band AC HMC card that would.

You would need this part number.  You should be able to find them on eBay.  Search by the part number, not the model of the wifi card.

Broadcom BCM4352 802.11ac 2x2 Wi-Fi + Bluetooth 4.0 combo  HP part # 724935-001

Thank you so much. By any chance would you know if the intel dual band wifi ac card would work also? Part # 710661-001

You're very welcome.

Unfortunately, the Intel card most likely will not work in your notebook since it has an AMD processor.
