ZBook 17 G5
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi everyone,

I got a new Laptop from the company I work for and as you can remove the back plate without tools, I had a look whats inside. What I noticed is that the WLAN module is missing and the antenna cables are just lying there. The funny thing is that I am able to connect to wifi anyhow. Can you enlighten me what kind of hardware they use instead?

Before you ask: Yes I am really connected to my Wifi and LAN nor WWAN. The slot for the SIM card is empty.

The laptop is a ZBook 17 G5 I think.

Thank you for your help!

Hi:

What is missing is the optional WWAN adapter for mobile broadband using a SIM.

The antenna cables connect to the WWAN adapter.

The WIFI adapter is an integral part of the motherboard.

Below is the link to the service manual.
