15-ck094nd
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hi,

I want to upgrade the wifi card in my 15-ck094nd intel laptop to wifi 6 but i don't know which wifi card to choose. I have an 8th gen i7 intel processor.

Here are the full processor specs: https://www.intel.com/content/www/us/en/products/sku/122589/intel-core-i78550u-processor-8m-cache-up...

And here is a link to to the laptop product page https://support.hp.com/id-en/document/c05834532

Which intel wifi cards does my laptop support?

Thank you

Hi, @maurice851

Unfortunately, no one here would be able to answer your question.

First of all, your notebook has to have either the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 3168 or the Intel Dual Band Wireless-AC 7265 installed in order to try a Wi-Fi 6 card.   Those will have two antenna wires to connect a Wi-Fi 6 card to.

The service manual shows some models in that series can come with the Realtek RTL8723DE single band Wi-Fi adapter, which only comes with one antenna wire.  You will not get Bluetooth with a Wi-Fi 6 card and only one antenna wire.

The only way we know what Wi-Fi cards work that are not listed in the service manual are from forum members who report what card they installed and whether or not it worked.

If you want to experiment with an AX200, this is the part number I recommend which you can find on eBay.

Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX200 ax 2×2 + Bluetooth 5.0 MU-MIMO M.2 2230 non-vPro   HP part # L35282-005.

Below is the link to the service manual, where you can find the Wi-Fi card removal and replacement procedure.

I have a question about the AX200 card. I see that it has 2 indentations while my current wifi card has only one indentation. Could the AX200 card still fit in the wifi slot despite of this?

My current wifi card looks like this one https://www.bol.com/nl/nl/p/intel-wi-fi-6-ax201-intern-wlan-2400-mbit-s/9200000110204690/?Referrer=A...

Could the ax201 work as well?

HP Recommended

Yes, it will fit in the M 2 wifi slot.

Could i use the AX201 too? It looks more similar to the one i have now.

Thanks

The Intel AX201 definitely will not work.

Hi Paul

I've just received the Intel AX200 card and i see that its the vPRO edition instead of the Non vPRO. My laptop doesn't support vPRO, can i still use the card? I've read on reddit that it should work normally but I also want to hear your opinion on this.

Thanks

PS: This is the exact card i bought https://azerty.nl/product/intel-wi-fi-6-ax200-netwerkadapter/3913549 The manufacturer code is AX200.NGWG.NV

On the chip itself i can see the HP partnumber you've mentioned, right after the letters 'SPS'. Behind the code i can see another code 0F. The model number on it is AX200.NGW

Hi:

NV = non-vPro and the SPS number (L35282-005) in the Wi-Fi card illustration on the link you posted, if that is the same one on the card you just received tells us it is non-vPro.

L35284-005 is the vPro model.

Hi Paul,

I just installed the AX200 wifi card and it works like a charm. I didn't even have to install any drivers for it. The card was auto-detected. Wifi speeds are now around 766.3 down and 856.2 up. Once again thanks for your help!
