HP EliteBook 850 G8 Notebook PC IDS Base Model

20221224_094944.jpg20221224_100426.jpg20221224_100726.jpgHi, I'm Danny.

I purchased and installed a wireless LAN card(Intel AX201NGW). Because my laptop didn't include a WLAN card when I've received it. The problem is that Elitebook 850 G8 is not recognizing WLAN, Intel AX201NGW. What is wrong? I think Wlan is no problem, I guess the problem may be from 850 G8, such as bios setting or firmware, or something unknown.

Please let me know how can I solve it and which WLAN is compatible with Elitebook 850 G8. I need to buy it.

Additionally it would be appreciated if you let me know the model for a finger printer module too.

Many thanks.

It does NOT make any sense at all. All HP Elitebook 850 g8 should have one of the following wifi adapters

  • Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 (2x2) and Bluetooth 5 combo, vPro
  • Intel Wi-Fi 6 AX201 (2x2) and Bluetooth 5 combo, non-vPro
note:
Wi-Fi 6 is backwards compatible with prior 802.11 specs.
Wireless access point and Internet service is required and is not included. Availability of public wireless access points limited. The specifications for the 802.11 WLAN are draft specifications and are not final. If the final specifications differ from the draft specifications, it might affect the ability of the notebook to communicate with other 802.11 WLAN devices.

Did you buy same part number as shown on page 35 of its manual (document c0698036.pdf)?

Hi Banhien,

I agree with your comment, Elitebook 850 G8 should have wifi adapter, but my one didn't include WLAN (1g2a6av : CTO No WLAN/No BLUETOOTH) when it's being shipped.

I've been trying to add WLAN because I found WLAN port with antenna cables inside laptop. I tried to install Intel 9560 Wlan card insteady this morning, I failed too. I am suspicious something is blocking not to recognize WLAN card module.

Do you have any idea for me?

For you information,

I have Two laptops, the same one, and is new one, just I opened box this week.

Hi.

I did try, but it's not a solution for me... unfortunately.
