I have been trying to print business cards for the past couple of days and it is not printing properly, I have wasted so many pages of Avery cards, so I went on line to Utube and found out that the printer I bought a year ago  is not recommended for printing business cards. What do you think that I should do?

@Starr70, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

I'm really sorry to hear about the trouble you've had with your HP Printer 7900e and the business cards. I totally understand your frustration, especially when you've already invested time, paper, and ink into this.

To clarify, the HP Printer 7900e was not specifically designed for printing thick, card-style materials like Avery business cards. It works best with standard photo papers, regular document printing, and lighter cardstock. Printing business cards requires precise handling of thicker, more rigid materials, which some printers (including this model) may struggle with. That’s likely why you're encountering issues like misfeeds or poor print quality.

Here’s what I’d suggest:

Check Printer Settings: Double-check that you’re using the appropriate media type and size settings in the printer driver. It could help prevent some of the issues you're seeing.

Use the Right Paper: Make sure you’re using paper that’s compatible with your printer. Avery business cards might be a bit thicker or have a coating that the 7900e isn't optimized for. You could try printing on a different type of card stock that’s more printer-friendly.

Test with a Different Printer: If you continue having problems, you might want to consider using a printer that’s specifically designed for card printing, like one with a higher print resolution or a specialized feed mechanism for thicker materials. Many of our HP printers designed for office or photo printing are better suited for thicker papers, so it could be worth looking into a trade-up or a new model.

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
