Hi @Meanazzmyles,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP computer isn’t connecting to your hotspot, here are a few steps to troubleshoot the issue.
Check Hotspot Settings:
- Ensure that your hotspot is active and broadcasting. Check that the network name (SSID) and password are correct.
Verify Network Compatibility:
- Ensure your HP computer is compatible with the frequency band of your hotspot (2.4 GHz or 5 GHz). Some older devices may only connect to 2.4 GHz.
Restart Devices:
- Restart your HP computer and the device providing the hotspot. Sometimes a simple reboot can resolve connectivity issues.
Forget and Reconnect:
- On your HP computer, go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi. Click on "Manage known networks," select your hotspot network, and click "Forget." Then, try reconnecting by selecting the network and entering the password.
Update Network Drivers:
- Ensure your network drivers are up to date. You can do this by going to Device Manager, expanding the Network adapters section, right-clicking on your Wi-Fi adapter, and selecting "Update driver."
Check for Interference:
- Make sure there are no other devices or networks causing interference with your hotspot signal.
Check Network Settings:
- Ensure that the network settings on your HP computer are configured correctly. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Wi-Fi > Advanced options and make sure "Connect automatically" is enabled.
Reset Network Settings:
- If all else fails, you can reset your network settings. Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Status > Network reset. This will remove and reinstall all your network adapters and set other networking components back to their original settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
