HP15 f387wm
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have an HP15 f387wm, with Win10x64. It has 12gb/RAM, and a 180gb/Intel SSD. It has an AMD A8/Radeon graphics processor.

The Wi-Fi will connect, but you can't go anywhere on-line, as it doesn't seem to be working. It's not a hardware issue, because temporarily, this computer has Windows 8.1, and the Wi-Fi works fine. However, I'm having trouble finding a Windows 8.1 driver for the video, otherwise, I'd just leave 8.1 on it.

Has anyone else encountered this problem?

Has anyone found a solution for it?

Is there a driver for the R5 Radeon graphics for windows 8.1, in case it's a non fixable issue?

This computer is *NOT* under warranty (that I know of), so I can do anything I need to do to fix it.

Thanx,

Kunder

Well, I got the video driver working, but I had to download it from AMD's website.

Now, for the embarrassing part..... My Wi-Fi  anntenae, somehow got disconnected..... I re-connected it, and it instantly went  "On-Line"

"Trouble shooting 101" ALWAYS check physical connections on everything FIRST!

Well, Now that I have everything installed, and working (no missing drivers), I have an up, and running Windows 8.1, HP15 f387wm, touchscreen computer. 🙂

If anyone else has this model, and wants to get off of Windows 10, You CAN indeed run windows 8.1 on it. You'll need a good (LEGAL) copy of Win8.1. You'll need to go to AMD's website, and download the video driver.  That driver also has the sound drivers in it.

(Might want to tear up your warranty too)

Thank you for all your help, Paul!

Actually, it works for a couple minutes, then quits in Win10. No such problem in Win8.1

Thanx!

Hi:

Yes, the wifi adapter your notebook has does not work well with W10.

I don't know if you tried the latest W10 driver for it, but if not, here it is.

2023.66.1104.2017 Rev.A     Nov 21, 2017

If you want to install W8.1, then this graphics driver should work from a comparable business-class notebook that has the same APU and graphics.

You're very welcome.

Well, the Wi-Fi driver was a fail. It was worse than the original one. Will now install 8.1, and try video driver.

Sorry the latest driver didn't help.

There are older versions you can try...under the revision history.
