WiFi-7 (BE201) Replacement for 17-cr0176ng

Hello together!

Can someone tell me if it's possible to replace the WiFi-module of my17-cr0176ng with the new Intel Wi-Fi7 BE201? Currently a Wi-Fi 6E AX211 is installed. I wonder if there's a whitelist in the BIOS.

Hi, Markus:

Unfortunately, HP does not publish any information regarding what PC's have whitelists.

Most HP notebooks made in 2013 or later don't have BIOS whitelists, but there are some exceptions.

I can't find any posts where anyone has tried to upgrade the Wi-Fi card in that model series, so there is nothing to go on.

I would not try a BE201.

This would be the HP part number/Intel SPS number of the BE200 card I recommend you try:

Intel BE200 M.2 2230 Wi-Fi 7 + Bluetooth 5.4 non-vPro WW WLAN module   HP part # N39883-005.

Thank you, I can confirm that the BE200 works. I recommend to download the BE200 drivers from the intel homepage first. Guess what I did not 😉
