For some reason, the WiFi at my friend's house isn't showing up on the list of available networks on my HP Pavilion DV7. However, my phone, and other devices in the house detect the network and are able to connect. Why wouldn't the network show up on my laptop? PS the WiFi was newly installed a couple of weeks ago and I know for a fact that I have the correct connection information.

Hi:

The only suggestion I can offer is to make sure that your friend has also enabled the 2.4 GHz wifi band, because your notebook cannot connect to the 5.0 GHz wifi band.
