I having trouble with wifi on my laptop.
I could connect to any network from wifi but it is frequently disconnecting.
Just before disconnecting the wifi range decreases to low like the hotspot device far away even it is near to my laptop,
There is no issue while connecting via LAN.
I have updated the adapter to latest from device manager but issue still persists.
The current version is.
Manufacturer: Realtek Semiconductor Corp.
Description: Realtek RTL8723BE 802.11 bgn Wi-Fi Adapter
Driver version: 2023.66.1104.2017
Please help me on this.

Thank you for joining HP Forums.
I'll be glad to help you 🙂
As I understand the WiFi keeps disconnecting,
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help, however, to provide an accurate resolution, I need a few more details:
Did you reinstall the network drivers? or update it from the HP website using a wired internet connection?
While you respond to that, I recommend the below steps:
Go to Device manager > select the WIFI drivers under network adapter> Right click go to properties > Under properties go to Power Management Tab> Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
If the issue persists, continue with the below steps:
If your computer has a wireless key or button on or near the keyboard and the wireless activity light is off or amber in color, then press the key or button to enable your wireless adapter. This key might be the F10 key, F12 key or labeled with a symbol of an airplane.
If wireless activity comes on or the activity light turns blue, you have enabled wireless on your system. Try connecting to the Internet again. If problems persist, continue using these steps.
If your computer does not have a wireless key or the wireless activity lights remains off or orange then continues using these steps.
Click Start, type troubleshooting into the Search field.
Select troubleshooting from the search results.
Click Network and Internet.
Click Internet Connections
For more details consider using the HP Guided Troubleshooter:
Click here to access it (simply select your description of the issue from the bottom of the screen to gain access to the next set of steps that should resolve your concern).
Keep me posted,
If the information I've provided was helpful,
Give us some reinforcement by clicking the solution and kudos buttons,
That'll help us and others see that we've got the answers!

Thank you so much for your time,
In regards to.
"Did you reinstall the network drivers? or update it from the HP website using a wired internet connection?"
-->>I had tried to update the wifi dirver from device manager -> network adapter -> Realteck wifi adapter -> update driver.
"Go to Device manager > select the WIFI drivers under network adapter> Right click go to properties > Under properties go to Power Management Tab> Uncheck "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power".
-->> I had tired the above steps which I saw in another post, but it does'nt help to fix the issue. Do you recommed this option always uncheck becuase I turned this on again. if the option is checked at what situation the computer wil turn the wifi off?
"If your computer has a wireless key or button on or near the keyboard and the wireless activity light is off or amber in color, then press the key or button to enable your wireless adapter. This key might be the F10 key, F12 key or labeled with a symbol of an airplane."
-->> This is something basic, I am sure that the Airplane mode is not activated.
Another probelm started with the wifi issue is that the battery is draining too fast, The device has only half of the battery backup now.
PS : An windows update is now running (version 1709), I will update you if the new update fix this issue.

Unfortunately I still have this issue. I have contacted hp support centre ad they performed some actions remotely however that didn'nt help to resolve this issue completely.
Good news is that the issue is now mitigate but I cannot rely on wifi to do important task 😞
Do let me know if you got any work around for this.

Same here,, they are just toying around my pc during remote control. Whenever i tried to explain, they act like they understand and started to reset the adapter few times. and magically then the wifi connected and back to normal a bit they finished the remote control.. very not satisfied hoping could get other model replacement like intel ac instead of realtek 8723BE
