Hi @Otiöia,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
I understand that you are having issues with the WIFI.
If the Wi-Fi network adapter on your HP 14-inch Laptop PC 14-em0000 isn't working despite following various tutorials, you can try a more detailed troubleshooting approach:
1. Verify the Wi-Fi Adapter Status
Check Device Manager:
- Right-click on the Start button and select Device Manager.
- Expand the Network adapters section and look for your Wi-Fi adapter.
- If there is a yellow triangle or an error message, right-click on the adapter and select Properties to see the error code.
Enable the Adapter:
- In Device Manager, right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter and select Enable if it's disabled.
- If it's enabled, try selecting Disable, then Enable again to reset the adapter.
2. Update or Reinstall the Wi-Fi Driver
Update Driver:
- Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter in Device Manager.
- Select Update driver and choose Search automatically for updated driver software.
Reinstall Driver:
- Right-click on the Wi-Fi adapter in Device Manager and select Uninstall device.
- Check the option to Delete the driver software for this device (if available) and click Uninstall.
- Restart your laptop. Windows should automatically attempt to reinstall the driver upon reboot.
Download Driver Manually:
- Visit the HP Support website and enter your laptop's model number.
- Download the latest Wi-Fi driver for your specific model and install it.
3. Check BIOS Settings
- Access BIOS:
- Restart your laptop and press Esc, F2, or another key specified during startup to enter BIOS/UEFI settings.
- Look for Wireless, Network, or LAN settings in the BIOS.
- Ensure that the wireless adapter is enabled.
4. Check Wireless Hardware Switch
- Physical Switch:
- Some laptops have a physical switch or function key (e.g., Fn + a key with a wireless symbol) to enable/disable wireless functionality. Ensure it's turned on.
Please find the remaining steps in the next post.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance

Hi @Otiöia,
Please find the remaining steps below.
5. Check Windows Network Troubleshooter
- Run Troubleshooter:
- Go to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters.
- Select Internet Connections and click Run the troubleshooter.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to diagnose and fix network issues.
6. Reset Network Settings
- Reset Network Settings:
- Go to Settings > Network & Internet > Advanced network settings.
- Click on Network reset and then Reset now.
- Restart your laptop and check if the Wi-Fi works.
7. Check for Hardware Issues
Test with an External Adapter:
- If possible, try using a USB Wi-Fi adapter to see if it connects to networks. If it works, the issue may be with the internal Wi-Fi adapter.
Inspect for Physical Damage:
- If you're comfortable opening your laptop, check if the internal Wi-Fi adapter is properly seated in its slot.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, there may be a hardware fault or a deeper software issue. Contact HP Phone Support for further assistance.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance
