As it turns out, I had installed the latest Intel driver, and that seems to be the reason the latest solution didn't work for me. I have since uninstalled that driver, rebooted, and uncheck the power settings on both controllers now. So far, it seems to be working. Only time will tell if this is the fix though.

I have the same problem. I have an HP Pavilion 17Z-g000 CTO Touch running Windows 10 Pro with Intel dual-band wireless AC 3165. The wireless connection continues to randomly drop internet connection.
When I first bought the computer it would crash Win 10 with a blue screen. After several driver updates, it now just loses connection to the internet. Clicking on the wireless icon, the network shows it as connected to my wireless router, but with no internet access. After a while, wi-fi shows as being off, and can't be turned back on, and finally, wi-fi shows as disconnected with no available connections. If I try to reboot, or shut down, the computer will hang indefinitely until I manually shut down by holding in the power key.
When I turn the computer back on, the wi-fi will show as not connected and will not show any available networks. To restore the network connection, I have to diable the network controller in device manager, restart the computer, and re-enable the network controller. This problem occurs both after waking from sleep and after a powerup. The time it takes for the problem to arise can vary from a few minutes, to a few hours after logging in.
I have tried the latest drvier from HP, 18.30.0.9, and also the latest from Intel 18.40.0.9, but the problem still persists. HP support says this is a software problem, and since my computer is more than 90 days old, I will have to pay for support. I told them this has been a problem since I got the computer, but HP support (apparently located in India) is a broken record saying that I must pay for support. I asked for a contact number in the United States, and they said they don't have one.
The Intel AC 3165 clearly works in other machinces, so this is clearly a problem with HP; It is likely a BIOS issue. Yet HP refuses to fix the problem, or even admit that it exists. They push you off by telling you to download the latest driver, and update your BIOS until you are out of the warranty period, then they want you to pay for help that won't even fix the problem! If HP does not fix this problem for FREE, I will not purchase another HP prouct again.

I have the same exact model from Costco with the same issue. It is driving me insane! I have tried seemingly everything to get this wireless adapter to work. I have tried turning off the power saving on both the wireless adapters and the controller card. I have rolled back the driver for the wireless adapter from the newest to the december update and even farther back to the february 2015 update and none of them seem to work. It will work for a period of time maybe a few hours or only a few minutes and start acting up again. AAhhhhh! What version of the driver are you using? I saw you say 22june2015 but all I have seen is a july 2015 released one?

I just bought a new HP Pavillion Star Wars edition for personal use.
I'm also experiencing issues with the AC3165.
I have a 200 meg connection, wired it works fine.
Wireless it only gets 30meg down and 12 up...and that's the best it can do, (usually it runs 27/28 ish down and 12 up)
It's not my router, it's not my wireless, it's not wireless congestion, it's not distance from my router...
I thought, "Well, I'll just buy a better wireless card, no worries.
Then I discover HP has a hardware whitelist that won't allow you to install unapproved hardware.
Now, HP needs to fix this issue. I bought this laptop in good faith....it does not perform as advertised and nowhere near AC speeds.
I work for a managed service provider, and I am responsible for making recommendations to our clients as to what PC hardware they purchase. (We support 5000+ users). I cannot in good faith recommend a product that not only am I having issues with, but a slew of other people are having similar or same issues.
Furthermore, it is not HP's responsibility to dictate what hardware their usres may use in the equipment that THEY purchased, this is an anti-trust violation and I will be filing a complaint with the Federal Trade Commission. If I want to run the card that came with it, or I want to void my warranty and run a "Billy-Bob Sooper Dooper Wair-less curd", that's MY perogative, not HP's.
So, I would really like to have this issue resolved, whether that's HP replacing the card with a comparable card, providing me a BIOS without an included whitelist (which I'll be happy to sign an NDA to acquire.), or you can buy my computer back.
Failing in that, HP will be removed from our "Whitelist" of recommended hardware vendors for futher purchases by our clients...5000 usrs at an average of $1200 a pop....you can do the math, but that's a 6,000,000 chunk of revenue that will be going to your competitors.
Your move, HP.

Hi everyone.
HP released at least two ''fixes'' related to these wifi problems.
The first I found was as a result of the Fall Windows 10 update (which you may be updating long after autumn, depending on when you bought your's):
http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-15-ah100-notebook-pc/8499284/document/c04949301/
And another was released in April this year related to continued wifi issues with named wifi chips:
http://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-envy-15-ah100-notebook-pc/8499284/document/c05173342/
I can't confirm that every single notebook here are included in that. You'll have to check your own notebook.
Has anyone tried these and can what's the result? Good, clean wifi?
