I have a hp laptop, the big old one. I’m trying to connect my home wifi to the last top but is not coming up. There’s nothing wrong with the wifi as even when I try my mobile hotspot it doesn’t come up.

Hi @Turtle20,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP laptop is not able to connect to WiFi networks, there are several steps you can try to resolve this issue:

Check WiFi Status:

  • Ensure that the WiFi is turned on. Most HP laptops have a physical or touch button to enable or disable the WiFi. Look for a small icon on the keyboard or edge of the laptop.

Restart Network Equipment:

  • Power off your WiFi router and the laptop, then turn them back on. This can resolve connectivity issues by refreshing the network connections.

Network Settings Check:

  • Go to your laptop's "Network & Internet" settings. Make sure the WiFi adapter is enabled.
  • Check the list of available networks to ensure it is scanning.

Update Network Drivers:

Run Network Troubleshooter:

  • Open "Settings" > "Network & Internet" > "Status" and click on "Network troubleshooter". This tool can help automatically find and fix problems with your network connection.

Check Airplane Mode:

  • Ensure that Airplane mode is turned off. You can usually find this in the network icon section in the taskbar.

Check for Interference:

  • Ensure there are no physical obstructions or electronic devices that might cause interference with the WiFi signal.

Advanced Network Settings:

  • Access "Control Panel" > "Network and Sharing Centre", then click on "Change adapter settings". Right-click your WiFi network, and select "Diagnose" to troubleshoot specific issues.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
