Hello,

I've done a system upgrade on Jan. 14 and since then the option of WiFi in my computer disappeared!

I have a red cross over LAN icon.

When I go to my network setting, there is no option to connect to WiFi - only to an Ethernet cable.

I try clicking on 'Available networks' but it's not clickable.

The light in my WiFi button that is located in the front part of my computer is blue (it's a slider button).

Sliding the button makes no different - nor in the computer or the color of the light.

Things I've done to try to solve it:

  • I tried restarting my computer
  • I wanted to try to restore to an older system version but the restore option wasn’t available for some reason, so I've deleted the last system upgrade done - it didn't help
  • I ran the following command in the cmd in order to check my WiFi's driver:

Netsh WLAN show drivers

But the result was: there is no wireless interface on the system

Please help me

Best regards,

Vered

Hello there,

Go to Device Manager and check under Network Adapters whether the wifi driver has any error or exclamation or whether any wifi driver is present at all. Go to HP.COM Software and Driver downloads page and download the right WIFI driver corresponding to the S/N and P/N of your HP Notebook.

Run the driver file and restart the notebook . Problem should resolve there. For any additional help I am always available on HP Forum on fb and gmail. Thanks.
