Hi,
I recently reinstalled my laptop to proxmox (runs on Debian) this was just a 'test' but i didn't even run a VM on it,
1month later I reinstalled to Windows 7 as before (WiFi worked before reinstall to proxmox, I have no idea if it was working running proxmox) I also installed windows 8,1 on it and tried some other windows 7 version's,
I also tried an external WiFi adaptor but this also didn't help, I had some network cards of other laptop's and i tried those 4 of the 4 failed and the 1 of 1 external also failed, When i try using Cable it does work at 1gbps, So there is no problem with the laptop its only just the WiFi, I also tried drivers on windows 7 and 8,1, This didn't help.
I hope someone can help me out :catvery-happy:.
Regards,
Yoloserver

Hi:
Go into the BIOS and make sure the wireless network adapter is present and enabled.
With W7, download and install the HP wireless assistant software, restart the PC, and see if you can turn the wireless card on by using the software.
This package contains the HP Wireless Assistant for the supported notebook/laptop models and operating systems. The HP Wireless Assistant is a user application that provides a way to control the enablement of individual wireless devices (such as Bluetooth, WLAN, or WWAN devices) and that shows the state of the radios for these wireless devices.
http://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp45001-45500/sp45222.exe
When a wireless card needs a driver in Windows, it is shown in the device manager as a Network Controller.
But first you need to ensure it is present and enabled.
If the wireless assistant software was installed prior to you installing any other operating system, and the wireless was turned off in the Wireless Assistant, the wlan card (or bluetooth) remains off permanently until you reinstall the software and use the software to turn it on again--even if the BIOS shows the wireless card is present and enabled.

Hi,
Please check this error opening the file you sent:

HP Wireless Assistant

The contents of this file cannot be unpacked. The executable you are attempting to run has been corrupted. Please obtain another copy of the file, verify its integrity, and try again.

I already checked device manager and that says usable.

Ah,
No problem, It was meant for a backup connection when my first one goes down: (second one is a hotspot of my ISP) So that's why i asked both questions (WiFi -> LAN) and Mobile Hotspot.
